My other gaming display is a CX so I rate the contrast pretty highly and the LG just wasn't cutting it at all in that regard, though I'll be keeping the IPS for media work. Experience absolute immersion when playing games or binge-watching movies with the Samsung Odyssey G7 Curved Gaming Monitor. If you can get it for a decent price, I would recommend the G7 for gaming. It's a shame Samsung are apparently moving away from it because despite some firmware teething issues, it feels like they finally nailed it - the TFT review is recommended. It is a really impressive panel for VA, matches or even beats some TN response times and pretty much eradicates smear and ghosting concerns - so you can safely ignore those horror stories of bad VA panels when it comes to these. The Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T is a much better gaming monitor than the LG 27GL850-B. The extra size is really nice and while the lower PPI is noticable on text on the desktop, it has been a non-issue in-game. I've never used a curved monitor before so I was unsure going in but I really like it on the 32" at this stage (I would probably avoid it on the 27" - 1000R would be too much for that IMO). I replaced my 27GL850-B with the G7 32" (primarily due to excessive glow in one corner which I couldnt stand any longer and the terrible contrast which was really disappointing - something you should certainly look at - panel lottery will affect the former, but it seems the latter is just standard for the display).įeels like a significant upgrade, honestly. If I had the ability to go back in time, I would have chosen the LG one to avoid headaches that I got from G7 (e.g tweaking the settings, returning it back to the store for a dead pixel, possible future issues) Design is T1-inspired with T1 logo, Faker signature, and core lighting in T1’s iconic red. Features include full immersion from 1000R and detailed expressions of color and contrasts from QLED, HDR 600 maximizes viewing pleasure by reproducing the original game contents. I didn't have to spend time tweaking the settings. Odyssey 7G meets a legendary pro-gaming champion, Faker. Plus the screen was warm for some reason - i guess all VA panels are like this? Eventually, I returned the G7 because of the dead pixel and didn't want a replacement. I also had to spend time tweaking the settings to get the right one. However, it was giving me headache gradually. I was doing better with FPS games surpringly. Has anyone experienced using both? Which one do you recommend more? Odyssey G7 is 240 hz, but VA and curved (32 inch)īoth currently are at decent prices. The LG one is Nano IPS at 144Hz (27 inch) Samsung Odyssey G7 LC27G75TQSRXXU 27 1000R Curved Gaming Monitor - 240Hz, 1ms.
